Obituary for Geraldine Polo
Geraldine Polo, age 70 of Ozone Park, New York, died peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Geraldine was born in Ozone Park to Sabbato and Anna Polo in 1945. After graduating from St. Michaels High School, she began working in Queens for the phone company and enjoyed her youth spending time with friends and family. Geraldine was an avid horse rider in her younger years and enjoyed vacationing at horse ranches in Upstate New York. She looked forward each year to watching the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes horse races. Her extensive collection of horse figurines displays her love of horses.
Gerry was also a big dog lover. Her dogs Lucky, Keesha, Bear and Dutchess were her pride and joy throughout her life. Gerry was a life-long Elvis Presley fan. An Elvis song always perked up her day. Gerry also enjoyed taking bus and train trips. She often fondly reminisced about a cross-country train trip she took with her mother and father to California.
Her kind heart will be deeply missed.
