Good morning Grandma, this is your Grandson, Charlie. I know I was telling you each day while we were together in the Forest Hills Hospital for the past two weeks how much I loved you and we prayed together for you to get better and return home. Grandma, I can whole heartedly tell you now that our prayers have been answered. Not only are you better but you are now on your beautiful journey into the hands of our Father in Heaven. You have comforted and have guided me through my entire life and always with a smile and a kind gesture. As a young child you taught me how to pray whenever I needed something or I had lost something and sure enough right after the prayer I would find what I had lost. I remember when you would sit me in your lap and you taught me how to say different parts of my face in Italian. You also used to always remind me to close my mouth when not talking so a fly does not get in. Funny but true. I can never forget the time you and grandpa took me to the World's Fair in 1964 and 1965 in Flushing Meadow Park. Grandpa would always buy me ice cream and candy and you would always yell at him because then I could not eat my dinner. I can never forget growing up with you and Grandpa and taking me to the Bungalow in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. Grandpa bought me my very first bicycle there and I cherished it to no end. I remember my very first Little League game which we played in the baseball field right next to your home on Aubrey Avenue in Glendale, New York. I was about 9 or 10 years old and I got dressed in my baseball uniform in your basement. Grandpa said I needed a good steak for energy before the game so you made me a steak dinner. It was delicious and I can taste it today like it was only yesterday. Grandma my memories of Grandpa and you are many and they will remain clear in my mind and my heart for the rest of my life. We prayed together and I continue to pray for you with confidence that your journey to heaven is a comforting and a magnificent experience. I thank you for being the beautiful Grandmother you were to me and the beautiful Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great, Great Grandmother you were to my Wife and my children.
